Publish MQTT Messages from Your Chatbot
Connect ChatMaxima to an MQTT broker such as HiveMQ Cloud, Mosquitto or EMQX and publish a message to any topic when a conversation or a scheduled flow reaches the MQTT Publish block.
- HiveMQ, Mosquitto, EMQX
- TLS and QoS 0 or 1
- One message per list row
- 7-day free trial
Customer conversations rarely reach your devices and back-end services
IoT products, smart buildings and event-driven back ends already listen on MQTT topics. Without a bridge, a request made in chat, like "open the gate" or "book this charger", needs a person or custom code to turn it into a message your systems understand.
What you can build with ChatMaxima and MQTT
Chat-Controlled Devices
Publish a command to a device topic when a customer asks for an action in chat, such as unlocking a locker or starting a charger.
Event-Driven Back Ends
Send a JSON event to your services when a lead is captured, an order is confirmed or an agent takes over a conversation.
Fan Out a List
Send one message per row of a JSON list over a single broker connection, with {item.field} placeholders in the topic and message.
Scheduled Publishing
Pair the block with a Schedule Trigger to publish on a timetable, for example a daily status message to every site.
Live Dashboards and Displays
Push queue numbers, booking updates or announcements to screens and dashboards that subscribe to a topic.
Secure Broker Connections
Connect over TLS with a username and password. Every connection gets a unique client id, so two flows never disconnect each other.
What the MQTT Publish block lets you set
The block publishes. Your devices and services subscribe to the topics you choose.
Connect MQTT in 4 steps
Add your broker
In ChatMaxima, open Integrations, choose MQTT and enter the broker host, port, encryption and credentials.
Add the block
Drag the MQTT Publish block into your flow in ChatMaxima Studio and choose the broker.
Set topic and message
Enter the topic, the message and the QoS level, using variables from the conversation.
Test and publish
Publish a test message from the Playground, confirm your subscriber receives it, then go live.
More than a MQTT connection
The MQTT connection is one part of ChatMaxima. The same bot, inbox and AI agent work across every channel your customers use.
- One bot for WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram and your website chat
- No-code visual builder in ChatMaxima Studio
- AI agent trained on your own knowledge base
- Shared team inbox with human handover
- Test the MQTT block in the Playground and review every run in Executions
- Free onboarding assistance from our team

Questions about the ChatMaxima MQTT integration
It adds an MQTT Publish block to ChatMaxima Studio that publishes a message to a topic on your MQTT broker whenever a conversation or scheduled flow reaches the block.
Yes. Choose TLS when adding the broker, usually on port 8883. TLS is required by HiveMQ Cloud and recommended everywhere else. Plaintext on port 1883 is also available.
Yes. In per-item mode the block reads a JSON list from a variable and sends one message per item over a single broker connection, filling {item.field} placeholders in the topic and message. An empty list counts as success with nothing sent.
No. MQTT does not allow publishing to topics that contain the + or # wildcards, so publish topics must be exact.
Any standard MQTT broker you can reach over the internet, including HiveMQ Cloud, Mosquitto and EMQX.
No. The block publishes messages. Your devices, services or dashboards subscribe to the topics you publish to.
QoS 0 and QoS 1. QoS 1 waits for the broker to acknowledge each message, which is slower on large fan-outs.
Yes. The Playground tab publishes a test message to your broker, and the Executions tab lists every real run.
