Wati Alternatives for Teams That Outgrew WhatsApp: Channels and Price Per Seat - ChatMaxima

Wati Alternatives for Teams That Outgrew WhatsApp: Channels and Price Per Seat (2026)

Most teams start looking for Wati alternatives for one of two reasons. Their customers now message them on Instagram, Facebook and the website as well as WhatsApp, or support replies are not coming fast enough when something breaks. Both problems get expensive, because the fix usually means a bigger plan, more seats, or a second tool.

This guide compares Wati and eight alternatives on exactly those two things: which channels each plan includes, and what each extra seat costs. Every figure comes from the vendor’s own pricing page, checked on October 8, 2026. Where a vendor does not publish a number, we say so instead of guessing.

A quick disclosure: we make ChatMaxima, which is one of the platforms below. We have priced it with the same rules as everyone else, and we point out where competitors beat it.

Why Teams Outgrow Wati

Wati is a strong WhatsApp Business API tool for small teams, and it is no longer strictly WhatsApp-only. Its pricing page now lists “Unlimited Channels” on every plan, with Instagram, Facebook Messenger and TikTok in the product menu. So the question is not whether Wati has other channels. It is how far each plan lets you use them, and what scaling the team costs.

Three limits show up when a team grows:

  • Seats cap early. Wati’s Growth plan includes 3 users and states “No additional users”. A fourth agent forces an upgrade to Pro.
  • Instagram is metered. Wati’s help center lists a monthly Instagram allowance per plan: 250 credits on Growth, 500 on Pro and 1,500 on Business (Wati, 2026).
  • Faster support costs more. Growth gets email support, Pro adds chat, and priority support with a dedicated CSM is on Business only.

None of these are dealbreakers on their own. Together, they mean the plan you signed up on rarely matches the plan you need a year later. If you want the full feature-by-feature breakdown, our Wati alternative comparison covers automation, AI and integrations. This post sticks to price and channels.

Wati Pricing in 2026: What You Actually Get

Here is Wati’s current pricing as served on its pricing page for the US market.

Plan Monthly billing Annual billing Users included Extra user Support
Growth $69/mo $59/mo 3 Not available Email
Pro $149/mo $119/mo 5 $24/mo Email + chat
Business $349/mo $279/mo 5 $69/mo Priority + dedicated CSM

In India, the same plans are ₹2,999, ₹6,499 and ₹18,499 per month on monthly billing. Only Business adds multiple accounts and WhatsApp numbers.

WhatsApp message fees sit on top of the subscription. Wati says “additional charges apply for template messages” and publishes them on separate rate cards, with volume discounts on Business only. It does not state whether those rates include a markup over Meta’s own price, which is worth asking about before you sign. Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Platform pricing is the baseline to compare any quote against.

Channel Coverage: What Each Wati Alternative Includes Per Plan

This is the table most comparison posts skip. It shows which channels you get on the entry plan, and how you get the second and third channel if they are not included.

Platform Entry plan Channels on entry plan Adding Instagram, Messenger or web chat
ChatMaxima Starter, $19/mo WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, web chat, email, Telegram, SMS Included. 1 account per channel; extra account $6/mo
Wati Growth, $69/mo “Unlimited Channels” Included, Instagram capped by monthly credits
respond.io Starter, $99/mo WhatsApp, chat, email and more, plus calls Included
Trengo Boost, €349/mo Email, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and more Included
Gallabox Basic, ₹2,999/mo quarterly 1 each: WhatsApp, Instagram, web widget Extra channel $20/mo, Essential plan and up only. No Messenger
Zoko Starter, $49.99/mo WhatsApp, Facebook, chat widget Instagram is a $9.99/mo add-on
Kommo Base, $25/user/mo 1 WhatsApp, 1 Instagram, Messenger, live chat More WhatsApp and Instagram accounts per user or on higher tiers
Interakt Starter, free WhatsApp or Instagram Instagram with WhatsApp from Growth (₹2,799/mo). No Messenger or web chat
AiSensy Free plan WhatsApp Not offered
DoubleTick Starter, ₹3,000/mo WhatsApp (1 number) Not offered

Two patterns stand out. AiSensy and DoubleTick are WhatsApp tools, full stop. If WhatsApp is genuinely your only channel they are worth a look, but they do not solve the “outgrew WhatsApp” problem. Teams moving off AiSensy for the same reason can see our AiSensy alternative breakdown.

Gallabox, Zoko and Kommo include some channels and charge for more. That is fine as long as you know the add-on price up front, which is exactly what the table above gives you.

Price Per Seat: The Number That Decides Your Bill

Channel coverage tells you if a tool fits. Price per seat tells you what it costs as you hire. This table shows how many users each entry plan includes and what each additional user costs.

Platform Seats on entry plan Extra seat Notes
ChatMaxima 3 (Starter) $6/mo Pro: 15 agents included. Max and Ultra: unlimited
Wati 3 (Growth) None on Growth; $24 on Pro, $69 on Business Fourth user requires Pro
respond.io 5 (Starter) $15/mo monthly, $12 annual Higher plans: $25 to $30 per seat
Trengo 10 (Boost) €30/mo monthly, €25 annual Pro: €50 per extra seat
Gallabox 3 (Basic, hard cap) $18/mo on Essential, $24 on Advanced Basic cannot add seats
Zoko Unlimited (Starter) Free on Starter; $9 to $15 on higher plans Starter adds a $0.015 per conversation markup
Kommo Priced per user $25/user/mo 6-month minimum term
Interakt Unlimited agents n/a Channel limits apply instead
DoubleTick 5 (Starter) Not published Extra seats exist, price shown only at checkout
AiSensy Unlimited users (fair use to 200) n/a Base subscription price not published

Per-seat pricing matters more than the headline plan price. A tool that looks cheap at 3 seats can cost more than a “premium” tool at 10, so the only fair comparison is a real team size.

What a Multi-Channel Team Really Pays: Two Scenarios

Let us price two common teams. Both need WhatsApp, Instagram and website chat in one shared inbox. Prices are monthly billing where the vendor offers it, before WhatsApp message fees and taxes.

Scenario 1: A 5-agent team on WhatsApp, Instagram and web chat

Platform Cheapest plan that fits Monthly cost Catch
ChatMaxima Starter + 2 extra seats $31 10,000 platform messages/mo included; $10 per extra 10,000
Zoko Starter + Instagram add-on $59.98 $0.015 markup per conversation; Plus plan without markup is $89.98
respond.io Starter $99 Message fees paid to Meta on top
Kommo Base, 5 users $125 6-month minimum
Wati Pro (Growth caps at 3 users) $149 Instagram capped at 500 credits/mo; web chat widget not listed on the pricing page
Gallabox Essential (Basic caps at 3 seats) ₹6,999 quarterly (about $331) or ₹5,599 annual (about $248) No Messenger
Trengo Boost €349 500 conversations/mo included, extra €18 per 100
Interakt Growth ₹2,799 No web chat or Messenger, so it does not fully fit

Scenario 2: A 10-agent team adding Messenger

Platform Cheapest plan that fits Monthly cost Catch
ChatMaxima Starter + 7 extra seats $61 Or Pro at $99 with 15 agents included, room to grow to 15
Zoko Elite + Instagram add-on $149.98 Facebook included, Instagram $9.99
respond.io Starter + 5 extra seats $174 Growth plan with 10 seats is $199
Kommo Base, 10 users $250 6-month minimum
Wati Pro + 5 extra users $269 Instagram still metered by credits
Gallabox Essential + 4 extra seats about $320 (annual) Messenger not available
Trengo Boost €349 10 seats included; conversation cap still applies

The gap widens as the team grows. Wati’s Pro plan goes from $149 at 5 users to $269 at 10, an 80% jump for the same channels. Tools that include more seats or charge little per seat stay close to flat.

Support Speed: Who Answers When Something Breaks

One of the queries that sends people to this topic is literally “Wati alternative with faster support”. Support speed is rarely on the pricing table, so here is what each vendor publishes.

  • Wati: email on Growth, email and chat on Pro, priority support and a dedicated CSM on Business.
  • respond.io: 24/7 support on every plan, with success calls on Advanced. This is the strongest published support promise in the group.
  • DoubleTick: 24×7 chat on all plans, an account manager from Pro.
  • Gallabox: published SLA of 48 hours on Basic and 24 hours on Essential and Advanced.
  • Trengo: email and messaging support, live chat added on Pro.
  • Kommo: priority support only on Enterprise.
  • ChatMaxima: 24-hour email response on Starter, 8 hours with live chat and WhatsApp on Pro, 4 hours with an account manager on Max, 1 hour on Ultra.

If round-the-clock human support is your top priority, respond.io and DoubleTick publish the most generous terms. If you need fast support without paying for a top-tier plan, compare the response time on the plan you will actually buy, not the best one on the page.

Do Not Forget Message Fees

The subscription is only half the bill. Every platform on the WhatsApp Business API passes on Meta’s per-message charges, and some add a margin on top. Since July 2025 Meta charges per delivered template message by category, and from October 1, 2026 service replies are also charged after the first 1,000 per number each month. Our WhatsApp Business API pricing guide explains the categories in detail.

What the vendors in this guide publish about markup:

  • Zoko charges $0.015 per conversation on Starter and says “no markup” on Max.
  • Interakt advertises “No Markup Charges” on Enterprise only, which suggests lower tiers carry one.
  • AiSensy lists a marketing rate of ₹1.09 per message in India, above Meta’s own India rate.
  • respond.io states that WhatsApp fees are charged by Meta and not included in the plan.
  • ChatMaxima charges no per-message markup and bills Meta’s direct rates.
  • Wati, Gallabox, DoubleTick, Kommo and Trengo do not state a markup on their pricing pages.

When you compare quotes, ask each vendor one question: “What do I pay per marketing template message in my country, and what does Meta charge for the same message?” The difference is the markup.

How to Choose the Right Wati Alternative

Use your own team size and channel list, not the vendor’s headline price. A simple way to decide:

  1. List your channels today and in 12 months. If Messenger or web chat is on the list, rule out the WhatsApp-only tools and the plans that cap channels.
  2. Price your real seat count. Multiply the extra-seat price by the agents you will add this year.
  3. Check the support tier on the plan you will buy. Faster support on a plan you cannot afford does not help.
  4. Ask for the per-message rate. Compare it against Meta’s published rate for your market.
  5. Run a trial with real conversations. Most of these tools offer 7 to 14 days, and ChatMaxima, respond.io and Gallabox start without a card.

Is it hard to switch away from Wati? Not usually. Your WhatsApp number belongs to your business, not to Wati, so you can migrate it to another WhatsApp Business API provider and keep the same number. Depending on how the migration is done, some message templates may need to be resubmitted for approval. Export your contact list and chat history first, and plan the move for a quiet period.

Conclusion: Pay for the Channels and Seats You Actually Use

Wati works well for small, WhatsApp-first teams. The cost climbs when you need a fourth seat, heavier Instagram use, or faster support, because each of those sits on a higher plan. The Wati alternatives in this guide solve that in different ways: respond.io and Trengo include every channel but charge more per seat, Zoko and Gallabox keep entry prices low and charge for extra channels, and AiSensy and DoubleTick stay focused on WhatsApp.

ChatMaxima’s approach is to include every channel on every plan and keep extra seats at $6 a month, with no markup on Meta’s message rates. If that fits your team, you can compare plans on our pricing page and start a 7-day free trial without a card.
